Transportation of waste to Tantareni may be resumed
The transportation of the garbage collected in the municipality of Chisinau to the waste dump in Tantareni, Anenii Noi may be resumed if a series of conditions are met, the head of the cleanup company “Autosalubritate” Tudor Maniv said in the March 12 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The local authorities of Tantareni demand setting up a waste processing plant, planting trees around the local barrage, repairing a number of buildings in the village and purchasing computers for the local school.
The Chisinau administration said they are ready to discuss these demands, but have not yet received proposals in written form from the Tantareni council. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked “Autosalubritate” and the deputy mayor in charge of this field to call a meeting with the authorities of Tantareni. After a decision is taken, there will be held the village’s general assembly that will be also attended by Chisinau decision makers.
The transportation of garbage to Tantareni was interrupted a year ago after the villagers blocked access to the waste dump. They complained that the smell in the village was unbearable and the water in their wells was infected. The mayor of Chisinau thus ordered taking the garbage to a specially laid out area on Uzinelor St.
