From May 8, the access of transport units to Saint Lazarus Cemetery in Chisinau will be prohibited. The restriction will also be imposed in the other cemeteries in the capital city starting with May 10 in order to manage to dispose of waste, IPN reports.
“The number of people visiting and cleaning the graves of their loved ones is constantly increasing. However, the enterprise deals with the challenges. In order to avoid unpleasant situations related to the limitation of access of means of transport to the territory of cemeteries ahead of the holidays, to avoid visitor overcrowding and the exorbitant burden of collection of the resulting waste, we further recommend organizing and carrying out in advance all the planned activities,” said Ludmila Boțan, manager of the municipal enterprise “Combinatul Servicii Funerare”.
Cleanup works have been carried out recently in ten cemeteries managed by the municipal enterprise, involving all the institution’s transport units. The cleaning of cemeteries will continue.
