The incomes collected into the Transnistrian budget in the first quarter of this year were by about 46 million Transnistrian rubles lower. Declines were also witnessed in the import and export and in other socioeconomic activities of the region, IPN reports.
According to the Transnistrian press, exports so far this year fell by 1.6%, while imports by 35%. The total turnover decreased by 25%. Analyzing the budget incomes in the first quarter of 2016, the head of the region’s finance department Irina Molocanova said the plan of collecting incomes to the budget was only 66% fulfilled. There was collected a sum of 290 million rubles, 204 million of which was allocated for paying social benefits.
She added that loans to the value of 175 million rubles were taken out to pay all the social benefits. “Until the law on budget does not take effect, we cannot apply for more loans. The created deficit and the inability to mobilize additional funds lead to a disruption to the process of paying salaries,” stated Irina Molocanova.
The salaries of the budget-funded employees in Transnistria in March were paid in the amount of slightly over 50%.
