Transnistrians waiting for pension bonuses from Russia

The Transnistrian administration has announced that it its waiting for a new tranche of humanitarian aid from the Russian Federation, which will reach the region’s budget in April. The Russian humanitarian aid comes in the form of pension bonuses. In January, February and March, bonuses haven’t been paid to Transnistrian pensioners owing to the shortage of funds, IPN reports, quoting the local press.

The pension bonus will be paid together with the pension. The categories of beneficiaries remained the same. These include pensioners of social insurance and police bodies, persons who retired on disability grounds, recipients of successor pensions, etc.

The value of the humanitarian aid is not specified, but this is said to oscillate depending on the number of pensioners and the exchange rate of the Russian ruble. About 126,000 people benefit from social welfare on the left side of the Nistru.
