Owing to the special gas distribution schedule, the temperature in the rooms in kindergartens and schools dropped to 11-12 degrees Celsius. Therefore, the kindergarten directors urge the parents to let their children stay at home. The breakaway republic’s Education Minister Maria Pashchenko said that such a decision was approved by the state administration heads in the Transnistrian towns and districts. But the nursery schools will not be closed. Every institution will set up several special groups for the children whose parents cannot look after them at home. As regards the extension of students’ winter holidays, such an ordinance was not signed. “If the situation does not improve and the temperature in rooms is lower than required, the document will be signed because the children’s health will be endangered,” Maria Pashchenko said.
