Transnistrian paramilitary bodies draft young men into ‘national army’
On April 1, the paramilitary bodies of Transnistria will start to call up men aged between 18 and 27 to the so-called Transnistrian army. In August, the young men will be summoned and drafted into the ‘national army’, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from Promo-LEX Association.
The communiqué says that the young man will be obliged to swear an oath of allegiance to an unconstitutional regime, in breach of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and the international treaties.
According to the ICT Ministry of Moldova, 267 312 Moldovan citizens living in the Transnistrian region had been recorded in the State Population Register by August 1, 2011.
