Transnistrian militia men went to the secondary school in Corjova village of Dubasari district this morning and banned the institution’s administration from hoisting the tricolor and playing the national anthem at the school year closing ceremony, director Constantin Sucitu has told IPN.
“When I went to the school at 7am, there were several militiamen in cars there. They entered my office and told me not to raise the flag and not to play the anthem at the festivity. I said I will do everything to avoid problems. But, when the ceremony started, they cut off the electricity,” said Constantin Sucitu.
He also said that they connected a generator so as to be able to hold the school year closing festivity. The children held small tricolors in their hands, while the school choir sang the national anthem. “It happens to us every year. Over the last 18 years, they every time caused us problems on September 1 and May 31,” said the school’s director.
The ‘last bell’ at the secondary school in Corjova was today rung for 90 children.
