Transnistrian issue to be discussed in Brussels, Washington and Kiev
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov during the next two weeks will travel to Brussels, Washington and Kiev for consultations on the Transnistrian conflict, Info-Prim Neo reports.
On April 14, Victor Osipov will leave for Brussels, where there will be discussed the resumption of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks, the activity of the working groups, the problems faced by the Transnistrians and other issues. On April 19, he will travel to Washington and from there to Kiev.
“The meetings will center on the same subjects as at the consultations held in Moscow (on March 23 and 24 – e.n.), Victor Osipov said. According to him, they will confer on the confidence building measures, the cooperation between the NGOs and the communities of experts, the meetings in the 5+2 and 1+1 format, etc. Victor Osipov said he will give details about the meetings he will have in Brussels, Washington and Kiev later.
As to the formulation of a strategic settlement document, the Deputy Prime Minister said that it has not been yet decided who will form part of the commission that will draft it. “We now gather information and discuss with the parties involved in the negotiation process so as to find out their opinions on these issues and see how things develop,” Victor Osipov said, adding that work on the document will start when the bilateral consultations are over.
