The period during which the Transnistrian business entities that perform import-export operations throng the Pervomaisk-Cuchurgan border crossing point and that are not registered with the Public Services Agency will enjoy exemptions from customs duties will be extended. The issue was discussed in a Cabinet meeting that centered on issues related to the integrated border management, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the deadline expires on July 18 this year. The proposal to extend this until January 1, 2019 that was formulated in the meeting was accepted.
In connection with the Government’s approaches to ensure integrated and efficient management of the border between Moldova and Ukraine, Prime Minister Pavel Filip instructed to step up the measures to extend the jointly operated border crossing points on the eastern frontier, including to prepare the human resources and to check the administrative conditions.
As to the launch of joint control on the Transnistrian segment of the Moldova-Ukrainian border, the Border Police and the Customs Service are to perform the final procedures together with the Ukrainian side. The Premier said that in concert with the Ukrainian authorities, effort will be made to hasten the signing of protocols in this regard.
