The Transnistrian administration announced that the employers in the region have debts of 38 million rubles (over 44m lei) to salary earners. In order to make the employers more responsible, the region’s administration made changes to the Labor Code. Under these amendments, if the salary is 30 days overdue, the employees can interrupt the work until they receive the pay, Info-Prim Neo reports. On its website, “Novyi Reghion” Agency says that the salary earners can interrupt the work by informing the employer in written form. The initiative was put forward by the local trade unions. Until now, the employees were able no to go to work if the pay was 60 days overdue.
