Transnistrian electoral authority validates elections for Supreme Soviet

The chairman of Transnistria’s Central Election Commission Petru Denisenko announced the elections for the local Supreme Soviet have been validated. The turnout of voters was 43%, with the required threshold being 25%, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting Olvia Pres. The largest number of persons voted in Rybnitsa, Camenca, Grigoriopol and Dubasari. According to Petru Denisenko, the Transnistrian electoral authority received no challenges as regards violations or electoral errors so far. The elections were validated in all the 43 local electoral bureaus. The local press reported that the elections were monitored by journalists, representatives of civil society from Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, France, Germany, the Baltic countries and delegates from other regions of the ex-Soviet area like Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Petru Denisenko told the reporters that the preliminary results of the elections will be announced on December 13 at 11 a.m.
