Transnistrian elderly give up apartments for place in senior shelter
War veterans and disabled from Tiraspol will have the right to renounce their flats and be lodged in the senior hospice in the town – the only in the area -, as from January 1. They will be fed, offered medical and social assistance. Instead they will have to give the state their apartments, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in the area reports.
The local parliament has been debated on the mechanisms enforcing this new law, which will be adopted till the year-end.
The Tiraspol authorities do not rule out that residents from other districts may be willing to get the hospice's services, but they will have to pay a $300 fee.
The shelter can hold 75 people, as 70 persons have already applied to be lodged.
