Transnistrian doctors to implement recommendations made by Russia, Ukraine and Moldova

Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of Transnistria Svetlana Arkadieva said the Transnistrian doctors were entrusted with the task of working out a general strategy for combating pandemic flu. According to her, in this process they will take into account all the recommendations made by Russia, Ukraine and Moldova, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in Tiraspol reports. Rostislav Ocushko, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the Tiraspol University, said the treatment of the persons with pandemic flu lasts longer now as the given persons suffer from an advanced form of the disease. If the infected persons seek help on time, they can recover fully during two weeks. According to the Tiraspol Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology, 167 cases of pandemic flu have been recorded in the Transnistrian region so far, 48 of which in Rybnitsa town. The disease in the region caused the death of ten persons. Twenty-five deaths caused by the H1N1 pandemic influenza had been reported in Moldova by December 29. The virus was detected in 2,551 cases of the total 5,607 suspect cases tested. In the 25th case of death, a woman from the Transnistrian town of Dnestrovsk died after developing complications, the Health Ministry's press service told Info-Prim Neo.
