Transnistrian civil society in favor of stronger relations with right bank

The civil society in Transnistria is for strengthening the relations with the right bank of the Nistru, civil society representatives said in a roundtable meeting held within the project “Building confidence between the two banks of the Nistru – professional preparedness of public policy experts,” Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from IDIS Viitorul. The participants in the event said there are few human contacts between experts. “The involvement of the very valuable human potential through such activities organized on a regular basis can help us maintain close relations and cooperate efficiently even when the politicians fail to find compromise solutions,” said the director of the Tiraspol organization “Casa comuna” (“Common house”) Dmitrii Gavrilov. Some of the representatives of the Transnistrian civil society spoke about the importance of extending the target groups covered by the project. Oxana Egorova, who represented the Rybnitsa organization “Perspectiva” (“Prospect”), said the project should be extended to include the associations based outside Chisinau and Tiraspol as their interest is even greater. The possible subjects for discussion concern the relations between the mass culture and the elite culture, corruption combating, development of Moldovan and Transnistrian civil society, processes to form leaders in the region, development of ecotourism, and others.
