The Cabinet approved the decision to implement the law on the registration of particular units of transport as of September 1, 2018. The document ensures the implementation of the protocol decision on the access to international road traffic of Transnistrian motor vehicles that are not involved in commercial activities of April 24, 2018, IPN reports.
Parliament adopted the law on July 26, 2018 and entrusted the Government with the task of agreeing the procedure for registering the given units of transport. The Government decision says the goal is to set the procedure for registering these categories of vehicles so as to ensure the functionally of the given law as of September 1, 2018. Following the supplements proposed to the legislation, the motor vehicles registered on the left side of the Nistru and in Bender municipality under the approved mechanism will be able to take part in international road traffic.
The units of transport, including trailers, motorcycles and bicycles with an auxiliary engine, will get neutral license plates without Moldova’s symbols for being allowed into international traffic. These will be issued by the subdivisions of the Public Services Agency of Moldova without levying import duties and requiring customs documents.
