Transnistrian authorities set up border guards post in Pohrebia

Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) has informed that the Transnistrian side built up a border guards post in Pohrebia village of Dubasari district unilaterally, in breach of the decisions taken by the Commission, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the Moldovan delegation to the JCC says the people living in the area have filed complaints. The post was set up at the intersection of the Tiraspol-Dubasari-Pohrebia roads. The street was repaired with money allocated by the mayor’s office of Pohrebia and the people. The Commission warns that the people’s reaction to such an act may take the form of mass protests. “These actions by the Transnistrian side show that the representatives of Tiraspol fully ignore the JCC’s decisions concerning refraining from such unilateral acts, which can complicate the people’s lives,” reads the communiqué. The Moldovan delegation to the JCC cautions the OSCE Mission that the Transnistrian security forces in the Security Zone regularly violate the Commission’s decisions.
