The head of the Transnistrian administration Vadim Krasnoselski sent a letter to the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, which contains a call for a dialog and for the intensification of the negotiations with a practical content, shows a feature report of the official Tiraspol TV channel “Pervyii Pridnestrovskii” that is quoted by IPN. Krasnoselsky made the statement in a meeting with Robin Dunnigan, Deputy Assistant Secretary responsible for Central and Eastern Europe in the U.S. Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, who led a delegation during a fact-finding visit to the Republic of Moldova.

“The letter depicted the problematic aspects of the bilateral relations, the new challenges existing at present, including the restrictions on our transport introduced on September 1. For now, I have seen no reaction on the part of our colleagues. We are consistent in our wish to continue the dialog and do not feel embarrassed to make a call to the Moldovan side. We made a call both to the President and to the executive and the legislature,” stated Vadim Krasnoselski.  

Letters with a similar content were sent by the head of the Transnistrian administration’s executive Alexand Martynov to Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița and by the chairman of the supreme soviet Alexander Korshunov to Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

In his speech, Vadim Krasnoselski underlined that the dialogue between Tiraspol and Chisinau is based on the provisions of the Berlin + Package.

Currently, the restrictions on the free movement of the motor vehicles with Transnistrian license plates that were imposed by Ukraine on September 1 is the Transnistrian administration’s major concern.

Sorina Ștefârță, spokeswoman for President Maia Sandu, confirmed the receipt of the letter. “The letter is being examined. When we have a response, we will make it public,” Sorina Ștefârță stated for IPN. She noted that Maia Sandu does not have now an adviser on the reintegration matter.
