Transnistrian administration postpones introduction of vehicle insurance

Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici and the Transnistrian leader Yevgheny Shevchuk in a telephone discussion agreed that the obligation for Moldovan drivers to have Transnistrian vehicle insurance when entering Transnistria will start to be applied not on April 1, but on April 14, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the interlocutors also agreed that the working group for building confidence in the transport sector, which consists of experts from Chisinau and Tiraspol, will immediately take steps to identify clear solutions for the introduction of civil liability insurance for vehicles.

The discussion on the issue was initiated in the working meetings of the political representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol and in the March 14 meeting of Chiril Gaburici and Yevgheny Shevchuk. It was then agreed that the movement of people between the two sides of the Nistru River will be based on a simplified regime during the Easter holidays.
