Transnistria youth to be trained for admission in Moldova’s universities

Authorities could create a joint centre for training the youth from eastern districts of Moldova for admission in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Moldova in compliance with the national standards and requirements and those of the Bologna Process. The proposal was made by President Vladimir Voronin at a seminar organised by the Astra Association of Students from Transnistria, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the presidential press service. Vladimir Voronin pointed out the imperious necessity that students from Transnistria know the official language in order to achieve good results as professionals and to fully integrate into the social and political life of the country. Speaking about the facilitation of the recognition of the Tiraspol University diplomas, Vladimir Voronin mentioned that the Ministry of Education and Youth sent to the university all the normative acts for certification and proposed assistance in implementing the process of evaluation and certification. The certification will solve the problem of the recognition of students’ diplomas. The president proposed to organise a new meeting with the students from the eastern districts of the country for analysing their employment opportunities. 4625 students from the left bank of the Nistru River are currently studying in the higher educational institutions under the Ministry of Education and Youth. In 2008, the ministry planned to allocate 750 places financed from the state budget to the mentioned category of students.
