Transnistria intends to set up new checkpoints at border with Ukraine
The Transnistrian region plans to open new checkpoints at the border with Ukraine. The local press reported that the reason is the large number of people who cross the border in summer, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Nina Shtanski, who is in charge of foreign relations, said the region’s authorities are having discussions with the Ukrainian side. “Our Ukrainian colleagues understand that the needs of the people crossing the border are now not satisfied,” she stated, adding that construction works already started at some border crossing points.
