Transnistria does not expect much from parliamentary elections in Moldova, UMT
“Transnistria does not expect much from the parliamentary elections in Moldova,” Valerian Tulgara, the president of the Union of Moldovans in Transnistria (UMT), said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent in Tiraspol.
“In Moldova, there is no real power to defend the population of Transnistria and propose an equitable scheme for settling the Transnistrian dispute,” Tulgara said.
According to him, in the April 5 elections the Union of Moldovans in Transnistria will support the party that will plead for a ‘civilized divorce’ between Moldova and the Moldovan Transnistrian republic.
At the start of March, the Central Election Commission decided that the Moldovan citizens living on the left bank of the Nistru could vote in 9 polling places located on the right bank in the districts of Floresti, Rezina, Dubasari, Anenii Noi, Causeni and Stefan Voda.
