Only a day after withdrawing from the Chisinau mayoral race, the head of the Business Consulting Institute Mihai Roscovan launched his book Transition Journal, on May 29. The book is a compilation of articles that appeared during the past two decades in different publications such as “Tara”, “Flux”, “Gazeta libera” and in the news division of Info-Prim Neo News Agency. The collection contains journalistic texts, budgetary analysis, economic studies and projects. “It is a book of reflections on everything I have seen and experienced during these years. It is a reaction to the life I lived,” said Mihai Roscovan during the launch. According to Alexandru Rusu, professor at the Technical University, the book deals with the problems that confronted the Moldovan economy and society during this period and the circumstances that caused this situation. Sergiu Burca, president of the Euro-Atlantic Association in Moldova and author of the book’s afterword, said that though the book contains budgetary studies and analysis, it is written in a journalistic style and is easy to read. He also said that the book presents Mihai Roscovan as a prominent economist indispensable to any governing team whose primary objective is to modernise and Europeanise our vital space. Academicians, friends and admirers of the author participated in the launch. Of the 18 candidates for the post of Chisinau mayor, who were also invited to the launch, only one of them came to congratulate Mihai Roscovan, the person to whom Roscovan gave the votes of his supporters after withdrawal.
