Transfer of passengers and luggage to be simplified

Moldova signed an agreement of cooperation/assistance with the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) that envisions the launch of the One-Stop Security Project. The passengers will no longer be screened twice: at departure, and again when they change flights. “One-stop security” is the concept of screening people for prohibited items once, at the beginning of their journey only, IPN has learned from the Civil Aviation Authority.

The project is designed to support Moldova in its efforts to have the security measures taken by it recognized by the European Union so that the transportation of passengers and luggage by air is facilitated.

The Civil Aviation Authority said that as a result of negotiations, at the last meeting of director generals of the ECAC member states of last December, it was decided that Moldova will be the first non-EU ECAC member that will benefit from the European Civil Aviation Conference’s special funds for 2015. It will receive €25,000 for implementing the One-Stop Security Project.
