The subscription period for the first issue of State Securities through eVMS.md platform is over. During ten days, 815 direct transactions to the value of 78.7 million lei were registered. According to the Ministry of Finance, the people who invested in two-year government bonds benefit from a competitive interest rate of 6 percent and are exempt from the tax on the profit obtained from these investments, IPN reports.

After the subscription period, the securities will be settled to each investor in their portfolio. Every six months, investors will receive a coupon with the calculated interest, which will be transferred directly to the payment account registered on eVMS.md platform. On the two-year maturity, investors will receive the SSs redeemed at their nominal value.

This issuance of securities to individuals marked a premiere for the Republic of Moldova thanks to the possibility to directly buy, without intermediaries, State Securities through the digital platform eVMS.md, which was developed with the support of USAID.
