TRANS OIL to invest US$ 2m in new grain loading line

The group TRANS OIL announced its intention to this year invest US$ 2 million in the construction of a new pneumatic grain loading line that will unite the Trans Cargo terminals on the Prut and on the Danube, IPN reports, with reference to a press release of the company.

Trans Cargo Terminal manager Mihail Redichin said that when the new pneumatic line is launched, the ships could be loaded with grains in the terminals on the Prut and the Danube, regardless of the storage place in the port. “This will make the work of our terminals more mobile and swift, while the general load capacity in the port will increase owing to the improvement of this activity. In the first half of last year, there were loaded over 485,000 tonnes of grains, legume seeds and oil bearing seeds,” stated the manager.

The pneumatic line will be 515 meters long, while its production capacity will be of over 200 tonnes an hour. The first segment will be launched this March. The project will be completed in the middle of summer, when harvesting works begin in agriculture. The financing will consist of own resources of the group of companies and of investments attracted from international financial organizations.

The group of companies TRANS OIL is the largest purchaser and exporter of grains in Moldova. The group’s storage capacity in the Giurgiulesti free international airport is of 70,000 tonnes of grains, 50 tonnes of which are kept at the terminals on the Prut, while 20,000 tonnes at those on the Danube.
