Training courses on first aid in central park of Chisinau

In connection with the European Restart a Herat Day celebrated on October 16, training courses on how to give first aid to persons in emergencies are given in the central park of Chisinau – the Public Garden “Stephan the Great”. Twenty doctors of the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine Center will present on models how to resuscitate a person in case of cardiac arrest, how to unblock the respiratory system in case of chocking, etc.

Contacted by IPN, spokesman for the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine Center Diana Blanaru said it is very important for the maneuvers to be performed at once, before the specialized services arrive, as this can be decisive moments for saving one’s life. Besides the possibility of learning first aid techniques free of charge, those involved will receive participation certificates at the end.

REPEMOL manager Silvia Morgoci said that first aid courses for the community were staged within the project and the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine Center assumed the responsibility of continuing these practices. This way they aim to heighten awareness of first aid maneuvering among the people.

The event “Act for life! Learn to give first aid!” was organized by the Ministry of Health and the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine Center, with the assistance of the Moldova-Swiss Regionalization of Pediatric Emergency and Intensive Care Services in the Republic of Moldova Project (REPEMOL). It is held in the central park of Chisinau between 10am and 2pm.
