Over 80 representatives of the central and local public authorities, regional development agencies and civil society took part in a workshop centering on the launch of the second call for project proposals within the Danube Transnational Program 2014-2020. The participants were informed about the program’s objectives, eligibility rules and results of the first call for proposals. The event was staged by the State Chancellery with support from the Austrian Development Agency on May 16, IPN has learned from the executive’s press service.
In the opening of the workshop, the Government’s deputy secretary general Valentin Guznac underlined the importance of staging such information sessions. “I’m convinced that today’s event will contribute to developing new initiatives for the community and, consequently, will increase Moldova’s participation level in programs covered by the EU Strategy for the Danube Region,” he stated.
The Danube Transnational Program is intended for the 14 states included in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region and aims to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, conserve the natural and cultural heritage in the Danube Region, improve connectivity and support the transition to an economy with reduced carbon dioxide emissions.
For the Moldovan institutions, the program offers the possibility of using about €2.3 million and is a unique opportunity for developing transnational partnerships in areas of economic and social importance. Project proposals can be submitted by June 6 this year, 3pm, on http://www.interreg-danube.eu/calls/callsfor-proposals/second-call-for-proposals/dtp-second-call-for-proposals-application-form.
