The National Library during a year and a half trained 17 employees who, for their part, will contribute to the formation and development of the professional skills of librarians working at school, village, town, district and municipal libraries. In the first Gala of National Library Trainers, these received attestation certificates, IPN reports.
National Library director general Elena Pintilei said the trainers were taught to provide different education services so as to improve the prestige of librarians all over the country. Some of them earlier received training as part of university studies, while others within the Novateca program and recently took part in a contest to enrich their knowledge at the Center of Continuous Professional Formation in Bibliotechonomy and Information Sciences of the National Library.
Elena Pintilei noted that at the first stage the trainers will offer support to librarians and later will provide services to users of the National Library. These are urged to come up with ideas of services that can be provided to users. The trainers will work with librarians on different segments and will teach them to develop new skills and modern services.
Ludmila Corghenci¸ head of the Center of Continuous Professional Formation in Bibliotechonomy and Information Sciences, said not many know that the National Library takes care of the personnel of all the national libraries. The librarian is an employee who throughout live should study and not for themselves, but for the users. “We have 17 trainers who during the next few years will help the librarians to satisfy their learning needs, first of all based on the professional needs of libraries,” stated Ludmila Corghenci.
The Gala of National Library Trainers was staged to stimulate the continuous professional formation of librarians. The education activities of trainers will be held at the Center of Continuous Professional Formation and also at the local level.
