Traian Basescu accredits Marius Lazurca as Ambassador in Chisinau
Romanian President Traian Basescu Friday issued a decree, accrediting Marius Gabriel Lazurca as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the website of the Romanian presidential administration.
The Moldovan authorities said earlier that Marius Lazurca will come to Chisinau in March.
Marius Lazurca, 38, is native of Timisoara. He has recently completed his duties as Ambassador to the Holy See.
Romania and Moldova have not had ambassadors in Chisinau and Bucharest since April 2009. Following the violent April protests in Chisinau, the Moldovan authorities declared the Romanian Ambassador Filip Teodorescu persona non gratae and then recalled the Moldovan Ambassador in Bucharest Lidia Gutu.
