The people living on both sides of the Nistru River will travel freer through the administrative border with the Transnistrian region during the winter holidays. Contacted by IPN, head of Chisinau’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission Ion Solonenko said the simplified crossing regime will be applied on December 31, 2016 and on January, 1, 7 and 8, 2017.

According to Ion Solonenco, such an agreement was reached with the Transnistrian side. The simplified crossing regime means less stricter checks and no fines.

Similar agreements were implemented on holidays earlier too.
