Traffic restrictions in Chisinau on weekend

Some of the streets in Chisinau will be inaccessible to traffic on June 4 and 5 in connection with the holding of the Festival “VeloHora 2016”, IPN reports, quoting the General Police Inspectorate.

The section of Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd between the streets G. Banulescu Bodoni and A. Pushkin will be closed to traffic between 11am, June 4, and until 5pm, June 5. The section between A. Puskin and M. Eminescu streets will be closed on June 4, between 12 noon and 6pm, and the transport will be directed to the adjoining streets.

The cycling race starts at 12 noon on June 5. The participants will run along the following route: Great National Assembly Square - Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd – Ciuflea St – Viaduct – Dacia Blvd – Decebal Blvd – Iu. Gagarin Blvd – Albisoara St – Renasterii Blvd – Tudor Vladimirescu St – Calea Orheiului St – Petricani St – Mihai Viteazul St – Columna St – rotary on Creanga St – Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd – Great National Assembly Square.

The cyclists will be accompanied by patrolling police teams so as to avoid accidents and prevent traffic jams. On the weekend, the access and temporary parking of units of transport involved in the event – in the Great National Assembly Square and on the route of the race – will be possible only by presenting a special permit or by the confirmation of the event organizers.
