The Road Police have identified the motorist that struck a young woman fatally on September 7 in the evening and left the place of the accident. The tragedy happened on Balcani Street in Chisinau, at the intersection with Alba Iulia Street. The identity of the girl has not been discovered yet. Ion Roscovanu, the head of the PR Division of the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo that the suspect, 43, has a criminal record. He was driving under the influence and says he does not remember having been involved in a road accident. The woman aged 25-30 looked as if she was 18-20. She was thin, 1.55-1.60 meters in height and had chestnut hair. She was dressed in khaki trousers and T-shirt with horizontal strips. A packet of Doina cigarettes was found near the body and 3 lei and a box of matches in her pockets. Anyone with any information about the identity of the victim is asked to contact the police on 54-20-63, 27-17-31 or 902. Four pedestrians and a bicyclist suffered different injuries after hit by cars on the Chisinau streets on September 10. All five have been hospitalized.
