Traffic on Stefan cel Mare Blvd. blocked illegally

The column of sympathizers of the Communist Party illegally blocked traffic on Stefan cel Mare Blvd. when going from the Academy of Sciences to the central square of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. Spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior Eugen Onica told a new conference that the incident happened close to the intersection of Stefan cel Mare Blvd. and Mitropolit Banulescu-Bodoni St. The column was allowed to move along the boulevard on one lane, in one direction. Urged by Vladimir Voronin, a group of sympathizers went to the opposite direction lane and blocked traffic for several minutes. When in front of the National Opera House, where the Communists’ march ended, the crowd dispersed chaotically, blocking again traffic. Eugen Onica said that the Association “Salvgardare” staged a spontaneous meeting in the Great National Assembly Square. The members of the Association came with megaphones, hindering the representatives of employers and trade unions demonstrating there. The police documented the cases and will take measures to punish the persons who committed violations. According to the Ministry of the Interior, the May 1 demonstrations held in the Great National Assembly Square involved about 10,000 people.
