A young man and a couple died Thursday in road accidents caused by speeding and inattentiveness to traffic, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Traffic Police Division. An 18-year-old man lost control of his Audi and crashed it into a tree on a local road in Sangerei district. The young man died on the spot. A husband and wife from Sipoteni village, Calarasi were heading for Chisinau when their Opel collided head-on with a Mercedes coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so powerful that the two cars were thrown about 50 meters from each other. The man from the Opel died immediately, while his wife on the way to the hospital in about half an hour. The driver of the Mercedes, who is reportedly a police officer, is in a serious condition in the hospital in Calarasi. The traffic police are investigating the case. A speeding Lancea car skidded and crashed into a tree not far from Straseni town close to midnight. The 24-year-old driver was admitted to the Straseni hospital with a serious cranial-cerebral trauma and a concussion. A man aged 48 was struck by a motorcycle driver by an inebriated man in Copanca village, Causeni. Three persons were killed and 12 hurt in the road accidents that happened in Moldova yesterday and last night.
