Trade outside Central Market will be forbidden

Mayor of the capital Dorin Chirtoaca asked the relevant bodies to take all necessary measures to stop unauthorized trade outside the Central Market, Info-Prim Neo reports. During a City Hall operative meeting, the Central Market director Ion Stratulat said that people sold not only fruits and vegetables, but also dairy products and meat in insalubrious conditions, outside the market, on Varlaam Street. “There are no vendors near Ionel factory, but on the roadside of the Central Market, practically in the street. The situation is very bad”, he said. The Mayor labeled the vendors’ behavior as insolence. “Even though they are local producers, we must take harsh measures”, he fumed. The Mayor said he would issue an ordinance forbidding any kind of trade outside the Central Market and would install a fence if needed. “Any trade outside the market is a foolish custom. This area can’t go on is such chaos and disorder”, Chirtoaca declared. He asked the police to be there since early morning, before the vendors came and displayed their goods for sale.
