Trade in bread supplied to schools and kindergartens
The price of bread supplied to school eateries and kindergartens in Chisinau by one producer varies depending on the location of the education institution. “For example, the bread made by “Franzeluta” in Ciocana costs about 6 lei, while in Buiucani district almost twice less – 3.5 lei,” Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, head of the Chisinau Division of Education, Youth and Sport, said Monday, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
She explained that separate tender contests for the supply of bread are held in every district. Even if the same company supplies bread, in some of the cases the selected offer includes a higher price.
Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that this method of determining the price cannot be justified. “The given economic entity cannot put a trade margin higher than 20%, while on bread the margin should not exceed 10%. I don’t know how “Franzeluta” can explain the difference in prices and a margin of 100%. It is absurd,” he stated.
He demanded that the inspections at education institutions should go on, while the identified problems should be solved without interrupting the alimentation process in schools.
