Trade House will be opened in Lithuania

In the near future, a trade house will be opened in Lithuania, where Moldovan wines will be sold. The opening of this commercial unit is scheduled for the official visit planned by the PM Vasile Tarlev to this country. Later, a similar, Lithuanian Trade House could be opened in Moldova. The primer minister Vasile Tarlev disclosed these perspectives to a press-conference following a meeting, in Chisinau, with the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Gediminas Kirkilas. The Lithuanian official declared that Moldovan wines gain a great popularity in his country and assured that Moldovan producers will benefit from an open market in Lithuania. In what concerns the perspectives of cooperation between the two countries, Gediminas Kirkilas declared that Lithuania wishes to share its experience of integration into the EU, in varied domains, from economy to culture. “We want to consolidate the relations between our states from the perspective of good neighborhood and consider this important aspect in the bilateral cooperation. The delegation includes businessmen who wish to and will establish business relations with Moldovan partners”, added the Lithuanian PM. Referring to the term in which the R. of Moldova could obtain the integration to the EU, Kirkilas mentioned that Lithuania passed this period in 10 years, and that the R. of Moldova could cover it twice faster if it would learn from the experience of other states, and Brussels should be convinced that the direction of European integration will be maintained, whichever party comes to power. The PM Vasile Tarlev declared that good relations between Chisinau and Vilnius will contribute to the creation of a stable peaceful climate in this region of Europe. “We are grateful for Lithuania’s support for Moldova’s position in solving the Transnistrian problem as part of the UN, OSCE and EU, as well as for the constructive, consistent attitude in this sense”, added Tarlev, cited by Info-Prim Neo. In the January-August period of 2006, the volume of the foreign trade between the R. Moldova and Lithuania reached the figure of USD 10.4 mln marking a 46.5% increase compared to the same period of 2005.
