Representatives of the Communication and Public Relations Department of the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu”, together with representatives of the Medical Students and Residents Association, went to the Placement and Rehabilitation Center for Children of an Early Age of Chisinau to give the children the toys gathered during a campaign entitled “A toy brings joy!”. The event was staged on April 6, one day before World Health Day, IPN reports.
The children received educative and interactive games, supplies, toys that stimulate their physical, cognitive and psycho-emotional development. The students organized entertaining games for children, while the latter recited poems for them.
The campaign “A toy brings joy!” was conducted during March 1-31. There were collected almost 100 toys. Also, the over 2,600 lei collected as contributions was used to purchase educative games, puzzles, construction and logic games and supplies, depending on the needs of the institution.
The Placement and Rehabilitation Center for Children of an Early Age accommodates about 120 children aged younger than 6, who remained temporarily or permanently without parental. Besides care and involvement in daily activities, the children are also offered treatment. The Center is outfitted with physiotherapy halls and a swimming pool, said educator Ana Chernoviski.
This year’s edition of the campaign “A toy brings joy!”, which is the second in number, is dedicated to scientist and professor Nicolae Testemitanu, who often went to children’s homes to take presents and talk to children there. In 2015, the university community donated toys to children who received treatment at the Oncological Institute of Chisinau.
