Toy instead of ticket
The Chisinau Council continues to gather toys for the disabled children. The people fond of music are invited this evening to the Philharmonics, at 8.00 for the second charity concert entitled “Joys for children.” The access into the hall will be assured for spectators who bring toys instead of tickets, Lucia Culev, the chief of the Culture Direction of Chisinau stated on Monday, December 22, at a staff meeting of the City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The concert will be performed by the singers Doina Sulac, Ion Paladi, Serj Cuzencov, Georgeta Voinovan, Aura, Adrian Ursu, Iurie Sadovnic, Natalia Barbu and the band Catharsis. People will also have the opportunity to see the ethno-folklore collective “Crenguta de Iedera,”directed by Maria Iliut, and the ensemble “Stefan Voda,” conducted by Tudor Ungureanu. Before the show, an exhibition of selling Christmas Trees made by the children of the Chisinau lyceums and schools, will be opened.
Lucia Culev also said that a concert with Pavel Stratan and the band Snails will be performed on the Christmas Day, December 25 (according to the Gregorian calendar), in Stefan cel Mare Public Garden, at 15.00. The coming days, till January 15, children and actors from Chisinau will give shows.
Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said after the staff meeting that it is possible that the municipality buys a new tree, instead of the one “stolen” from the Straseni forest, but at the moment such a decision has not been made.
The Chisinau City Hall’s Christmas Tree disappeared on Sunday, December 21 from the Straseni forest, where it was retained by police. The tree was bought from a private household, to be erected in the center of Chisinau. On its way to Chisinau, the employees of the Traffic Police Service arrested the car invoking the lack of the ecologic permit for cutting the tree.
The Chisinau Police has declined any responsibility for the disappearance of the city hall’s tree from the Straseni forest. “I don’t know where the tree is, and, as you know, what happens in Straseni is not the Chisinau Police’s competence,” Iacob Gumenita, the chief of the municipal police, stated on Monday.
The Chisinau mayor announced that he proposed 5 locations from the center of Chisinau for erecting the tree: the Great National Assembly Square, the Europe’s Square from Public Garden Stefan cel Mare si Sfant, the Square of the Opera and Ballet Theater, the square from the Cathedral’s park and on Vlaicu Parcalab street, in front of the City Hall’s quarter, but each time the police disobeyed these ordinances.
