Town Halls of Husi and Hancesti will carry out joint project worth EUR 1 mln

The Town Halls of Husi (Romania) and Hancesti (Moldova) teamed up to prepare a joint economic project, Romanian media reports, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The project plans a transborder highway between Husi and Hancesti, via Albita Customs, which supposes that the DE 581 motorway (Husi-Albita) would be taken from the interior of the town to its outskirts. The benefit of the residents of Husi would be that vehicles of large capacity would no longer create vibrations that have shaken hundreds of houses on Schit, Alexandru Ioan Cuza and Sfantul Gheorghe streets. According to mayor of Husi Tudor Stafie the project is being drawn up by specialists from both sides. At present, the parties are carrying out the feasibility study. “The transborder ring road can be built in one or in ten years, it depends on how fast we are and how quickly we will receive the European financing", the mayor said. The project will be funded by the European Union in proportion of 80%, and by the Husi Local Council and Hancesti Town Hall, in equal shares, totalling EUR 1 mln. By means of this project, Romanians want to take the DE 581 motorway outside the town, along the route Dobrina - Bobesti - Valea Grecului -Albita, while Moldovans to build 35 km of freeway along the route Hancesti - Leuseni Customs (Albita checkpoint).
