The tourism industry efficiently uses the economic, historical and cultural potential of a region. This is one of the main driving forces of economic growth that should be relaunched after the pandemic. But any tourist facility needs a narrative, while Stephan the Great and Holy was a huge personality of world level who is one more unchallengeable moral and historical benchmark, Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Daniel Ioniță stated in the Forum “Cultural-Historical Route “Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy” that was organized by the Investment Agency of Moldova, IPN reports.
The ambassador noted the Romania-Moldova Cultural-Historical Route “Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy” is an opportunity for acknowledging and promoting the cultural and tourist values by standardizing the instruments for promoting and marketing the destination, for transmitting a coherent cultural-tourist message. “This new initiative is a modern instrument by which we not only protect the historical and spiritual heritage that unites us, but also put our countries on the tourist map of the world,” stated Daniel Ioniță.
He noted that tourism can contribute best to the strengthening of ties between Romania and the Republic of Moldova and can support Moldova on its road to the EU. “I invite all those who want to cover at least once in life this wonderful route of about 2,000 km that includes historical and legendary sites that have connection with Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy – 20 on the territory of Romania and 9 on the territory of the Republic of Moldova – and also over 80 tourist attractions in both of the countries,” urged the ambassador.
The first transfrontier route “Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy” was created by Moldova together with Romania in 2019 and includes 29 tourist facilities situated on both sides of the Prut, connected historically with the name the ruler.
