A number of villages of Causeni district remained without electricity following the heavy rain and high winds of the evening of June 14. The hail damaged hectares of crops, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, a part of Causeni town and the villages Tanatari, Ursoaia, Grigorievca, and Baccealia were disconnected from the power supply because of the strong winds. The damage caused by hail will be assessed by the local emergencies commissions.
The Anenii Noi-Causeni road that goes through Grigorievca was blocked by a tree that was downed by the wind. Traffic there could be resumed only after a specialized team removed the tree.
In Baccealia, a tree fell onto a low pressure gas pipe and the gas supply to the mayor’s office, the local kindergarten and the elderly people’s home was disrupted. Emergency services teams are working on the spot.
