Topnotch X-ray machine donated to National Neurology Institute

A state-of-the-art portable X-ray machine was donated to the National Neurology Institute. The institution's administration says this highly safe and accurate piece of equipment will maximally reduce exposure of both doctors and patients to unnecessary radiation. Dr. Ion Moldovanu, the director of the Institute, said the machine offers both 2D and 3D images. It will help to cut surgery times by up to 50% thanks to its intraoperative imaging control function, which also helps to reduce the risk of infections and anesthesia-related complications in patients who undergo spinal surgery, for example. “This modern piece of equipment offers our citizens the possibility to enjoy proper treatment so that they can subsequently fully enjoy their lives”, stated Prime Minister Vlad Filat during the presentation of the donated machine. According to a press release from the Government, the donation, which was made by UNDP and Orange Moldova Foundation, is estimated at about 3 million lei.
