Tofilat accuses Recean of falsehoods and warns that "The fight is not over"

Sergiu Tofilat, dismissed from the Supervisory Board of Moldovagaz for allegedly blocking the purchase of gas at advantageous prices, expressed surprise at Prime Minister Dorin Recean's statements. "I don't have such authority. But I will continue investigating the company's activities," Tofilat wrote in a Facebook post in response to the Prime Minister's claims, IPN reports.

Tofilat accused Dorin Recean of "spreading falsehoods" but said he would comply with the Prime Minister's decision. "I will submit my resignation, but the fight is not over", Tofilat warned.

In support of Tofilat, the WatchDog community called the Prime Minister's claims regarding Tofilat's responsibility for blocking gas purchases "unsubstantiated" and pointed to the interim director of Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, as the one accountable.

Sergiu Tofilat had served as a member of the Supervisory Board of Moldovagaz, representing civil society, since July 28, 2023.
