A 2-year-old Moldovan citizen has been repatriated from Russia. The baby was abandoned after it was born. The he was sheltered by an orphanage near Moscow, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Social Protection Ministry. Its mother left for Russia in 1998 seeking for a job and then lost any contact with her family in Moldova. Returned to the country the child is taken care of by the Chisinau tutelage authorities, which are to choose the best way to protect the child. The repatriation mission has been carried out by the Social Protection Ministry with the Swiss office of “Terre des Hommes” in Moldova. The Ministry has repatriated 43 children this year from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Ireland and Spain.
