Socialist MP Bogdan Țîrdea said that after it will analyze the anti-constitutional putsch attempt and the actions on which this was based, the parliamentary commission of inquiry will have to go to court and ask for an appropriate juridical, not political appraisal of the activity of the Constitutional Court judges. In a program on NTV Moldova channel, he stated the High Court played a key role in the attempted coup as it created the resistance mechanism, IPN reports.

The MP noted the whole judicial system should be reformed for it to become independent. “The prosecutor general is now named by the Council of Prosecutors who chooses a persons responsible for the system from among prosecutors. The Council of Prosecutors and the Superior Council Magistracy should be cleaned up before allowing them to field by a judge for service in the Constitutional Court,” stated Bogdan Țîrdea.

MP of the Bloc ACUM Vladimir Bolea said now that the six Constitutional Court judges resigned, the prosecutor general will also leave. “They all understand that their actions were illegal. They kept their posts and waited for a miracle. These people do not have honor,” he stated.

According to the MP, the judges should have resigned immediately after they reviewed their decisions of June 7-9, before the Venice Commission presented its opinion. “These persons are weak and politically biased. They represented a small group of people, political parties and didn’t really serve as judges,” stated Vladimir Bolea, noting these persons should be judged by their actions.

On June 7-9, the Constitutional Court pronounced a number of rulings by which it declared the formed parliamentary majority, the appointment of the Parliament Speaker and the investing of the Government unconstitutional. Later, the judges annulled their decisions, arguing the political conjuncture changed. The Venice Commission harshly criticized judges’ actions. Later, the CC judges resigned en masse.
