Tiraspol turns down Chisinau’s proposal to set up joint working group

Tiraspol considers Chisinau’s recent proposal to create a joint working group as “uninteresting, unachievable, and inappropriate”, Valery Litskai, the foreign minister of the breakaway republic of Transnistria was quoted by the regional media as saying. Tiraspol doesn’t plan to set up any joint working group with Moldova, Litskai maintained. On October 8, the Ministry of Reintegration sent a letter to Tiraspol, proposing to set up a joint working group that would elaborate the timetable of the join meetings of the groups of experts and their themes with the aim of solving the problems related to the implementation of the proposals put forward by President Vladimir Voronin such as: to take measures to ensure the free movement officials and persons holding responsible positions; to jointly take part in the formulation and implementation of projects designed to restore and modernise the infrastructure; to solve the social problems; to overcome the drought consequences; to carry out measures on phased disarmament and demilitarisation.
