The so-called Supreme Soviet of the Transnistrian region is preparing a statement to the Russian State Duma, by which it will ask the Duma not to allow the blocking of the region after the signing by Moldova of the Association Agreement with the EU. The statement is to be adopted in the January 29 meeting of the Supreme Soviet, IPN reports.

According to “Novostipmr” Agency, by the given statement Tiraspol wants to attract Russia’s attention to the possible effects of Moldova’s European aspirations on the Transnistrian region.

The statement reminds that about 200,000 Russian citizens live in the Transnistrian region.
