Tiraspol suggests calling extraordinary meeting in 5+2 format

The Transnistrian administration issued an invitation to the sides, asking to convoke an extraordinary meeting in the 5+2 format of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks, where to discuss the issue of railway transport. The Reintegration Office of Moldova hasn’t yet commented on Tiraspol’s approach, IPN reports.

The Transnistrian press reported that at the end of last year, Ukraine and Moldova ‘blocked’ the import of freight by railway through the Transnistrian region and this caused enormous losses to this sector of Transnistria. During the first three months of this year alone, Transnistria’s Railways sustained losses of over 5 million local rubles.

The Transnistrian administration announced that it will be making every effort for the railway freight transport to be unblocked and insists that Moldova and Ukraine should not take unilateral measures.
