Tiraspol rejects solutions advanced by Chisinau

So-called deputy minister of external affairs from Tiraspol Aleksandr Malyarchuk says that the package of documents handed by Moldovan president Vladimir Voronin, at the meeting of December 24, 2008 with Igor Smirnov, whom he calls president of Transnistria, cannot be the basis for a constructive dialogue between those two parties and, moreover, for settling the conflict,” Info-Prim Neo's correspondent reports from Tiraspol. “I have sent Mister Sova (Valerii Sova, the minister of reintegration– e.n.) an official reply to Chisinau’s proposals today. They do not take into consideration the opinions of the Transnistrian people, and according to their shape, they do not correspond to the international law,” the official from Tiraspol stated on Monday, February 16, specifying that Tiraspol’s position was disclosed to the mediators. “Despite this, Tiraspol asserts officially for the second time that it is ready for a dialogue from equal positions and it states its will to establish good neighborhood relations with Moldova,” Aleksandr Malyarchuk added.
